A companion piece to FJ’s COVID-19 fotonovelas, created under the PODER en SALUD project. These videos explore four topics: the COVID-19 vaccine and pregnancy; the vaccine for children under 12 years old; COVID-19 prevention after vaccination; and mental health during the pandemic. They feature farmworker actors and include a variety of useful resources. Can be easily shared via social media or WhatsApp.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a pervasive threat to farmworker health, and Farmworker Justice has been working with community partners to provide education and outreach on COVID-19 to farmworker communities. The following video exemplifies such efforts – as it seeks to educate Spanish-speaking children on the importance of COVID-19 immunization. It’s a short song sung by kids, for kids that will hopefully resonate with families. Please enjoy and share.
On November 4, 2021, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released an emergency temporary standard (ETS) mandating COVID-19 vaccination and testing in the workplace. The ETS covers employers with more than 100 employees. The notice states that covered employers are required to comply with all requirements by January 4, 2022. In addition, OSHA is requesting comment on the ETS as it considers creating a final rule.
