Southern Poverty Law Center executive selected to join the FJ Board of Directors

Washington, DC – Farmworker Justice announced today the appointment of Julian Teixeira to the Farmworker Justice Board of Directors. Julian brings to Farmworker Justice over 30 years of experience in marketing, communications, media relations and public engagement.

“We are delighted to welcome Julian to the Farmworker Justice Board of Directors and look forward to working together to improve conditions and address the lack of protections and resources for the farmworker community,” said Natalie Camacho Mendoza, Chair of Farmworker Justice Board of Directors.

“Julian’s professional and leadership experience in non-profit and private sectors will be of great value as we continue to advance critical change for farmworkers and their families,” said Ron Estrada, CEO of Farmworker Justice. “We welcome Julian to the board of directors and look forward to a productive year ahead,” continued Estrada.

Currently, Julian is the chief communications officer at the Southern Poverty Law Center and most recently served as senior vice president at GMMB. Previously, Julian was vice president of marketing and communications at Power to Decide, senior director of communications at UnidosUS and vice president of media relations at Zeno Group. Julian holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a lecturer at Johns Hopkins University Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. Among professors within the Krieger school, he won the Professor of the Year award for 2020.
