Resource Development Coordinator –
Part-Time
Summary
Farmworker Justice leads efforts to
address immigration policy, labor rights, and occupational safety
and health of farmworkers. Created in 1981, Farmworker Justice has
won important victories to ensure the fair treatment of farmworkers
and improve wages and conditions in the fields. It works to create
safe, living wage jobs and access to justice through legal
representation, advocacy, support to farmworker organizations, and
technical assistance on public health projects. And it has ambitious
strategies to capitalize on specific opportunities to continue to
achieve additional meaningful changes in the lives of farmworkers.
Farmworker Justice currently seeks
eligible candidates to bring experience and passion for fundraising
to fill the newly created part-time position of Resource Development
Coordinator. The Resource Development Coordinator will work with the
Executive Director and Board of Directors to manage and implement a
donor stewardship program. Responsible for ensuring strong
engagement and sustained support to the organization through
stewardship, special events and communication, the coordinator will
report directly to the Executive Director.
General responsibilities include but
are not limited to:
Donor Stewardship
-
Providing direct programmatic and
administrative support to the Executive Director on all matters
related to donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.

Developing and maintaining systems
and processes to enhance fundraising efforts with focus on
nurturing relationships among donors.

Identifying prospects with major
gift potential and developing a portfolio of donors who are
candidates for cultivation and solicitation by solicitors through
a moves management process.

Collaborating with communications
coordinator to expand online fundraising.

Serving as staff support to the
board and its development committee and other volunteers.

Helping to build a culture of
philanthropy by assisting with training for board members,
volunteers and staff on various donor stewardship techniques.

Participating in decision-making
and strategic planning for resource development.
Departmental
Coordination and Support
-
Responsible for database management
and donor history, including managing all data entry, running
monthly and customized reports.

Drafting donor acknowledgments,
appeals and other correspondence and regular electronic and
printed updates to current donors.

Providing support and relationship
management to ensure timely renewals.
-
Overseeing donor cultivation events
and receptions, and, in collaboration with Office Manager,
managing volunteers, invitations, tracking of RSVPs, catering, and
guest check in, and other logistics.

Coordinating, in collaboration with
Office Manager and administrative staff, logistics and scheduling
for board development committee meetings, donor meetings, and
special events.
Qualifications
-
Demonstrated commitment to the
mission and values of Farmworker Justice.

Minimum of two years experience of
demonstrated success in nonprofit resource development including
individual giving, donor relations, annual fund, donor stewardship
and cultivation, development of fundraising infrastructure, and
communication to support resource development.

Demonstrated knowledge and
understanding of all core fundraising strategies.

Collaborative approach and
coalition building skills.
-
Bachelor’s
degree.
-
Excellent persuasive fundraising,
writing and communications skills for diverse groups.

Good management and organizational
skills.
-
Familiarity with fundraising
databases, and confidence in developing and managing donor
tracking and contact relationship.

Possesses the highest standard of
confidentiality and discretion.
-
Ability to manage a variety of
projects under pressure, and a positive, creative, and
professional demeanor.
-
Spanish language ability a plus but
not required.

corporation of National Council of La Raza, the nation’s largest
constituency-based Hispanic civil rights organization. Farmworker
