Congress (2003-2004)
In 2003, Sen. Kennedy, Rep. Berman, Sen. Craig, Rep. Cannon, and
Rep. Rodriguez (chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus)
introduced legislation containing a compromise on immigration and

Negotiations and
Congressional Action leading to AgJOBS The AgJOBS compromise came about as a result of historic negotiations
between agricultural employers, lead by Senator Craig and Rep.
Cannon, and the United Farm Workers, lead by Sen. Kennedy and Rep.
