AgJOBS & Immigration Legislation

On May 14, 2009, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Representatives Berman (D-CA) and Putnam (R-FL)  introduced AgJOBS in the 111th Congress.  In the Senate it's S. 1038 and in the House it's H.R.2414.

The Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits and Security Act (“AgJOBS”) represents a major compromise between farmworker advocates (led by the United Farm Workers) and major agricultural employers to address the agricultural immigration crisis.

AgJOBS enjoys bipartisan majority support and is endorsed by a broad spectrum of organizations, including Latino community leaders, civil rights organizations, religious groups and farmworkers themselves.

Please help support AgJOBS. You can help by contacting your members of Congress and asking them to support AgJOBS.  You can call your members of Congress using these talking points or you can send a letter to your Senators and Representative asking them to support AgJOBS using this sample letter.  Sending letters to your members of Congress is a very effective method of showing your support for AgJOBS.
